snap store doesn't find the installed snaps

Asked by Marc Langenaken

The Snap store on my Ubuntu Mate laptop doesn't list the installed snaps in the overview.
When I search in the Snap store for an installed snap then it will list that it is installed, but in the overview of all installed snaps no snap is listed.
It all started when executing an update of the installed snaps : during the update of some snaps, the Snap store window closed itself and re-starting the Snap store resulted each time in an immediate closure of the Snap store window.

I have already uninstalled the Snap store and re-installed it.

Now the Snap store window remains open, I can search in all available snaps, I can click on the update button and the Snap store displays that nothing has to be updated, but when I click on the button installed snaps then there are none (while for instance the Libre Office snaps are installed).

Any idea what I can do to resolve this ?

Thanks

Marc,

to me it seems some sort of a broken snapcraft index.
My suggestion:

Start Snap store and just let it be active for some time.
Do this on a moment you will not be using your PC.

This gives Snap store the possibility to rebuild its index.

I do not know the details of the snap program, but hopes this helps.

Please reply the reaction of snapcraft here, thank you!

Wim,

Thanks for your reply.

I discovered that I had two instances of the Snap store installed on my Ubuntu laptop. After deleting one of these instances and applying your suggestion, everything now works fine.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Have a nice day,
Marc
