wma codecs

Asked by Erik Gregg

I'm having trouble playing anything that requires dshow/dmo codecs. Is support for this compiled into your mplayer builds? Thanks.

MPlayer has these codes built in. You can also play these files with Totem, look at the FAQ:
FAQ #3: “Restricted Formats”.

I have w64codecs installed from medibuntu, and I went ahead and untarred essential codecs from mplayer into /usr/lib/win32, but nothing works. On further inspection, I should move this thread to the forums based on the following output:

hank@tardis$ mplayer -ac help
Warning unknown option no-correct-pts at line 8
MPlayer SVN-r29643-Ubuntu-RVM (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team
137 audio & 297 video codecs
Available audio codecs:
ac: afm: status: info: [lib/dll]
wma9dmo dmo working Windows Media Audio 9 DMO [wma9dmod.dll]
wmadmo dmo working Windows Media Audio DMO [wmadmod.dll]
wma9spdmo dmo working Windows Media Audio 9 Speech DMO [wmspdmod.dll]
wma9spdshow dshow working Windows Media Audio 9 Speech DShow [wmavds32.ax]

Thanks for the answer.
