Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS

smartmontools:amd64 (6.4+svn4214-1)

shortly after installation of smartmontools systemd starts logging following lines to /var/log/syslog every 5 minutes:

Behavior didn't change after:
* reboot
* service smartd stop
* service smartmontools stop

Behavior did cease only after
* apt purge smartmontools

Besides this logging issue everything seemed to work normally so far.

I'd like to use smartctl, but can't have my syslog cluttered like this. Any ideas?

Matthias
