unable to locate package skype in ubuntu 10.10

Hi,i search how to install skype for ubuntu 10.10 :ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install skype

E: Unable to locate package skype
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$.Please help me,i try every modes but it sais EL:Unable to locate package skype.And i hawe a problem too,i can't upgrade cache it sais to chec my internet conections.

Maverick is no longer supported in any way. I suggest you wipe it off and do a clean install of Trusty. It is LTS and due out in a week's time.

There is no community support for Maverick and zero updates.

Can you help with this problem?
