Downgrade skype to 2.2

Asked by jpuxan

Today my skype was updated to version 4. But I cannot share my screen with this version, there is no error message, but it's not working. I had no problem with the previous version.

Is there any way to install previous version?

Thanks

If you can find a deb for it then yes. Did you try renaming the skype config folder in $HOME ?

It resets the config to default, can help if old configs don't work in new apps.

Skype is a complete mess (in any OS), I suggest you look into alternatives

You can clean up by deleting the folder you renamed to, it's not needed now :)

I've been looking for alternatives, but I cannot find any that have videocalling and screen sharing for free, and that supports linux and mac. I tried webEx, but is not working very well and is web based, which I do not like.
Do you know any other good alternatives?

According to the feature list, it does not have screen sharing, but thank you anyway.
