Skype webcam doesn't work

Asked by Stevos May

New to ubuntu, just installed version 10.04.

This is the second issue I can't resolve.
I Installed the latest version of skype (beta version) and my webcam (ELECOM, bought in Japan) doesn't work. It does work in Cheese. In skype it goes to start up but I get a blank white square where my image should be. The person I am calling gets a window up, but the image never loads. The "test webcam" option in skype doesn't work. I can see the webcam image of the person I am calling.

I don't really want to buy a new webcam. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks
