just downloded skype now I have a box in my downlode how do I open and run so I can use it.

that pretty much it this old man don't know much. just need someone to tell me step by step on how to get from the box to working thank you.

Why download skype...

Please activate the partner repository from System→Administration→Software sources

Confirm repository reload and install skype with Apllications→Ubuntu Software Center

Since Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx), Skype is part of the Canonical partner repository. To install Skype add the Canonical Partner Repository and install Skype via the Software-Center or via the Terminal.

ok made it to the Software sources but dont see (partner repository or Confirm repository)

why skype tryed yahoo and logitech and 6 or 7 others. found out skype was the only one to do video chat or (video phone)with linex and (broken)windows. is there another way?

in Software Source open the [Other Software] tab and look for row:

and activate it...
