Simple Scan can not find my KODAK VERITE 50 for scanning

Hello, the simple scan dose not work with my KODAK VERITE 50 all in one printer scanner. I have down loaded and installed all the software from Kodak twice, the printer works fine but the scanner will not. is there a fix?
