Where did the buttons go?

I upgraded distro versions and in the new version of simple-scan (3.28) there are no longer buttons at the top for rotation and cropping and the like. Is there a way to either turn these on or roll back to a previous version where these are still present?

Please disregard, I am an idiot and now see the buttons at the bottom of the screen.
