Cannot save on a windows shared folder

Asked by Kostas Pap

After scanning I am trying to save on a Windows samba shared folder but I get the message "Could not read the contents of ...".
The folder is normally accessed by nautilus file browser.
Does anyone else has this problem? Is it a bug?

Regards

Does your Windows account that you are accessing the share have a password set.

If you run:

smbtree

Do you see the share OK?

The share is configured not to ask a password, but I'm not sure if I was asked the first time I accessed it via nautilus.
smbtree shows the shared pcs and folders
the output is:
No LSB modules are available.

I suggest you add a password. Nautilus doesn't work without one if memory serves. You could make an account just for accessing the share and leave the user account alone.

Blank passwords are not good
