I'm plugged into my wireless printer, trying to scan to e-mail job report but program says not connected to scanner. Scanner option works on its own so is functioning.

I'm plugged into my HP 2700 all in one printer. I am using Ubuntu operating system. My Computer Guru set me up with Simpke Scan. I'm trying to scan my payroll papers, to e-mail them to Hdqtrs. I do not have a land line phone! I try to scan my 3 documents with this program and it tells me I am not connected to a scanner....but I am...via cable from printed to computer and visa versa.

I get so frustrated with these darn "Simple to Use" programs. I've gone thru the Help and it doesn't have enough info for me to figure out the problem. I have been trying to do this little task for more than an hour!!! It took me 30 minutes to finally get tro this place after having to reregister, change my password, etc, etc.etc.

If I can't get this simple thing to work by 4pm pdt I will be fined by my employer. What else can I do besides go to FedX and pay 5-10 dollars to have them send this stuff. I hope you hear my pain! and that you can help me make this silly program to work.
