How to get HP scanner 5370C working in Ubuntu please

Hi I am brand new to Linux, and am unable to get my HP scanner (5370C) to install/work.
Can any body please provide ant help, please remember that I am "Brand New to Linux Ubuntu"

That should work, I think.
Could you describe what you tried.

I think you need to install simple-scan (or xsane) and probably hplip. Both should be installed by default, but you can install them via Software Centre. It should work then.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Is there any error message?
