How do I scan with Canon IRC-2620 over a network?

Asked by Charles Reed

Hello,

I am a complete novice with Linux (using Ubuntu 11.10). I have managed to set up my network and get everything running except I can't scan using a Canon Image Runner 2620 (a colour photocopier, scanner, fax, printer) which is connected to my network. I can print using it but not scan. I also have an HP Colour Laserjet 2840 on the network which I can print and scan with. The document feeder on the HP has gone wrong though hence my need to scan with the Canon. The linux drivers that canon provide appear to just be the printer drivers. Not sure what other information people might need to help so apologies if I haven't provided what you need, please ask if you need more info.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

You should probably ask the people on the sane-devel mailing list about this:
