Canon MP250 not scanning

I have Canon MP250 printer, scanner, copier. I can print, make copies but not scan. I use simple scan but installed xsane image scanner but they both said "scanner not detected". Can anyone tell me what to do so that I can scan? It was working fine with Ubuntu 10.04 but I recently upgraded to 11.04 and it stopped scanning.

Try to add this repositories, then try to install the scangearmp related app

https://launchpad.net/~michael-gruz/+archive/canon

Please add this ppa https://launchpad.net/~michael-gruz/+archive/canon
to your repository, open a terminal by press ctrl + alt + t then type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:michael-gruz/canon
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ...

To see names detail of packages of this ppa

I have canon pixma too. Scanner works in Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu but when i tried in Fedora and Debian only the printer worked it said cant connect with scanner.

Have you tryed after addin my prev answer suggested ppa to install and use

Yes I tried that but it didn't work. So I tried this http://ubuntica.com/pixma-mp250-on-ubuntu.html and the scanner is working with both Simple Scan & xsane image scanner. But now the printer does not want to print :-).
