Simple Scan for reclaimed-paper with ScanSnap S1500

Asked by Koichiro Yamamoto

In our university, all the official documents must be printed to reclaimed paper containing more than 70 % recycled pulp. When documents are scanned by Simple Scan with Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500, the image become mottled heavily. I think it is due to the slightly-less contrast in this kind of paper. I believe most companies, universities, and public services use this kind of paper in Japan. Is it possible to increase the contrast of scanned images in my system ?

what are you scanning? images or text?
mottling usually occurs when you're scanning low resolution graphics, such as photos in newspapers or magazine spreads at the wrong resolution.
you might want to try using xsane and scan at a different resolution and adjust the contrast to see if it helps.

Can you help with this problem?
