I do not think this device is supported at this time; I could be wrong however.

There is a unique identifier in the USB chip of the device that will make it easier to be certain about this, so I need that number.

can you open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) then type in the following command:

lsusb

(note that is ELL-susb, not EYE-susb, you can cut and paste if you are in doubt)

and paste the result back here?

The scanner must be plugged in of course.

According to http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-CANON it's not supported by SANE
