CanoScanLIDE 20 UBUNTU 10.04 lucid

Asked by john villout

Hi,
After the update of my UBUNTU 10.04 lucid yesterday morning, my scaner Canon still not detected by Xsane and Simple Scan. I tested it on a Windows PC with the same USB cable, and it works.

cd ~; wget http://files.canon-europe.com/files/soft39340/software/CAPT_Printer_Driver_for_Linux_V200_uk_EN.tar.gz; tar zxvf ./CAPT_Printer_Driver_for_Linux_V200_uk_EN.tar.gz ; rm ./CAPT_Printer_Driver_for_Linux_V200_uk_EN.tar.gz; cd CAPT_Printer_Driver_for_Linux_V200_uk_EN/Driver/Debian/; sudo dpkg -i *.deb; sudo apt-get -f install; cd

Should do it, if you reboot it should work. If all is well run:

sudo rm -r ~/CAPT_Printer_Driver_for_Linux_V200_uk_EN/

Should do just fine

Apparently it works out of the box:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupportComponentsScannersCanon

What is the output of:

scanimage -L

Thanks

Thank you for youre help.
I've make a update with some change on the sources:
http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu jaunty,
and it's seems to resolve my problem.
with your command:
famille@HOMESERVER:~$ scanimage -L
device `plustek:libusb:002:002' is a Canon CanoScan N670U/N676U/LiDE20 flatbed scanner
famille@HOMESERVER:~$
an now xsane is working.

cheers.
