I cant scan with Epson stylus CX7000F, scanner is not detected

I can print but not scan
I installed simple scan and xsane image scanner but they both said "scanner not detected"
This is an all in one printer, it has fax scan and print

can anyone tell me what to do so that I can scan ...

As listed on http://www.sane-project.org/cgi-bin/driver.pl?manu=Epson&model=&bus=any&v=&p= your scanner is not supported by Sane (the backend used by simple-scan). There is a reference that it might work with this additional software: http://snapscan.sourceforge.net/

I tried, its impossible, everywhere i have asked has led to a dead end.
