HP Deskjet 720C unable to connect to HP 3670 scanner

HP Desk Jet 720C will not connect to HP scan jet 3670. Simple Scan does recognize the scanner. Error message is that scanner won't turn on. I have checked all connections, and every thing seems plugged in.

Obvious but I have to ask... is your scanner connected and turned on? Do you have xsane or any other scanning application installed?

how do i install HP Scanjet 4670 or link to the simple scan ?
