How can I set up a scanner? Scanner model is hp scanjet 4600 . Is this scanner supported in Ubuntu?

I am unable to configure HP scanner scanjet 4600. Is there driver available for this hardware? If yes, please let me know.

Don't know about this specific product, but usually solution with Hewlett Packard is installing, with Synaptic, the package HPLIP.

Hplip will not help. It only works for HP printers and multifunctionals.

It seems that this scanner is unfortunately not supported on linux except for the experimental software were actionparsnip pointed at.

Have a look at http://chmil.org/hp4600linux/ , but it's for geek.
