Can you give the output of:

lsusb

assuming it is a USB scanner, if not please detail us the interface and we can progress

Hello,

I understand that Canon are not supporting Linux with drivers so there is probably no solution.

This info comes from a recent (July) Linux Magazine.

HP does support Linux.
