epson stylus tx111 scanner is not working in ubuntu.

Sir,
Ihave a epson styllus tx111 inkjet printer with scanner...
printer is successfully installed and i can print out the documents.. But i cant scan any thing through my scanner. i installed xsane image scanner and simple scan. But both programs shown as my scanner is not detected. make sure it is rurend on.
wht can i do ? i searched on net. most of them tell abt i scan software. but where its from downlaod ? im new to ubuntu ?

Epson scanners are notoriously tricky, lets see if yours is. Can you give the output of:

lsusb

Also running:

sudo chmod 666 /dev/bus/usb/005/002

Will mean you don't have to run the scanning app with gksudo

Once you have installed iscan you can use simplescan from your applications menu -> graphics

when i open simple scan " No Scanners Detected"

When open Applications --> Graphics --> Image Scan! for Linux

An Error box appears with message " Could not send command to scanner. Check the scanners status."

When i open simple scan frpm graphics menu. "Failed to scan, Unable to connect to scanner",

 Simple Scan detect the scanner as Epson but model is unknown.

Please Help me...

after sudo chmod 666 /dev/bus/usb/005/002 the scanner is working.
