Hotkey to trigger Shutter

Asked by Dave Evans

Are there any plans to provide Shutter with a Hotkey option so that, so long as Shutter is running, the EXACT state of the screen is frozen and capturable ?

The difficulty I have with Shutter (which seems to be one of the better screencap offerings), is that when I am on a menu flyout, I have to move the pointer to the Shutter window in order to trigger "Selection" which of course then defocuses the menu option I was wanting to include in the screencap.

In a Windows environment I use a utility called ShareX, which freezes the screen the instant I use the "Selection" hotkey but I have yet to find a suitable alternative to use in the Ubuntu environment.

TIA.
