Ubuntu 11.04/12.04 Shutter Does Not Open from Command Line

Asked by Julianloui

(1) I have no trouble opening Ubuntu 11.04/12.04 Shutter via the GUI. However, I see the following errors if I try to open it from the command line:

Net::DBus::GLib is missing
Image::ExiTool is missing

(2) What is the correct command-line syntax to use Shutter?

Did you upgrade from Natty to Precise in one jump?

No. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on a separate computer from scratch by downloading it from a website early this year. As I stated, both my Ubuntu 11.04 and 12.04 computers are having the same problem with Shutter when it is invoked from the command line.

I've just found Shotwell as a very good replacement of Shutter. I am happy to close my original request.
