can't download photos from phone

Asked by Sadie Daniels

I have Ubuntu 11.10 and Shotwell 0.11.6. My phone is a Samsung U740. I don't even know if I have the right cord... the tag says MSKSAM20PIN, it has a handset charger imput in the middle, phone plug on one end & USB on the other. All are plugged in & turned on. Shotwell does not see the phone at all.

Oneiric is EOL in less than a few weeks. I suggest you upgrade sooner rather than later.

I'm sorry, but I'm not very computer savy. I have no idea what that means.

EOL means end of life. Not supported anymore. Windows XP is EOL soon too

So Ubuntu 11.10 is EOL? I have a Dell laptop with 1.8 GiB memory & AMD Turion 64x2 processor. Would you be kind enough to suggest an OS for me? I do not care for microsoft products.
