Drag-n-drop or copy paste pictures to other app

Asked by Arnljot Seem

I use Shotwell to collect and organize all my pictures. Now I want to use them, sometimes in other applications. I can not find a way to copy a picture from Shotwell and past into another application. Drag and drop is not working either. If I set up Gnome Image viewer to be the default external editor, I can drag it from there into for example Libre Office, but this is really awkward
Is there any other way to do this?

Thanks
.

Not something I've done. Is it the same in other desktops?

Tickcted here: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/1563. Unfortunately, to do this right we have to implement this first: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/1798

Other possibilities are to export the photo from Shotwell then import it into the app. Another is to use Shotwell's File -> Send To feature, which can be used to send photos to applications that support Nautilus' Send To command.

Can you help with this problem?
