Shotwell images show as a red circle slash, do not enter symbol

Asked by John Mclaren

For some reason, when I load shotwell and try to download my images off my flash card, they show as a red circle with a line through them... no image, just the graphic. Don't know what's changed, they used to show up correctly. I can import them, successfully, and they show up in the library, after imported. Any ideas?

What format are the images in? Are they JPEGs, photos in some RAW format, or something else? What version of Ubuntu are you running? What version of Shotwell do you have?

Sorry, I guess that information would have helped. They are Canon RAW in shotwell .11.6 I am accessing them directly from the CF card, since the camera is too slow... Maybe that's the problem? It can display them if the camera is attached, but not the CF?

Hm - yes, I see this too when I use a CF card from my Canon S90. I've filed a bug:

I also noticed that it will display the images during the import, but not the preview...

Can you help with this problem?
