Print multiple photos on one page from more than one event

Asked by Smallermike on 2011-12-05

I am trying to find a simple way to print 2, 4, or 6 different photos on the same page, when the photos are in different event folders. I can't select them by clicking on one, moving to another folder and doing ctrl/click, as only the last photo clicked appears in the preview (or rather, the photos selected in the most recent event folder selected). I've tried to work out how to set up a folder independent of the events, to move the required photos to, so all can be selected using ctrl/click. Also, there is no auto rotate, so if 2 photos are portrait and the other 2 landscape, they are all printed in their orientation causing 2 to be reduced in size. My wife is used to the Olympus master on W-XP, and likes the ability to drag and drop photos into position in a dedicated print window which functions as a preview window, and can rotate them individually if needed before dragging, and remove them from the preview window one at a time when she changes her mind. Is there any way of achieving all this? Yours, maritally threatened Mike.

Mike,

if the photos you want are in different events, simply select each photo in turn and press the slash key ("/") to flag it. Now choose Flagged in the sidebar. You'll see all the photos you've flagged and will be able to print them all together.

Regarding the rotation problem you described, we have a ticket for this at http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/3473. I've just upped its priority to High, so I hope we'll able to address this before long. In the meantime, you may want to print out all landscape photos together and then print all portait photos in a separate group. Hope this helps!

Thanks Adam, your answer helped a lot. The Boss has lots more issues, but I think its best to handle them one at a time!
