Add folder name as tag automaticly

Asked by Walkinraven

I used to organize my pictures by folders, and so it is reasonable to set them as tag in shotwell.

Tags have a distinctly different meaning and behavior from either folders or albums. One example: in general, a photo can reside in only one folder at a time, but it can be tagged with many different tags. For example, if you have a photo of your friend Bob with his dog, do you put this photo in the "Bob" folder or the "Dogs" folder? With tags, it's simple: you can tag the photo both with both "Bob" and "Dog."

Because of the differences in intent and behavior between tags and folders, we, the developers of Shotwell, are reluctant to introduce any kind of automatic folder-to-tag mapping. One day soon enough though you'll be able to view the folder organization of your photos directly in the Shotwell sidebar, since this is a feature that the Shotwell development team plans to work on. For more information, see the write-up of this issue on the Shotwell development team's feature tracker here: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/1594.
