loading pictures from camera, finepixs digital camera

I plugged in finepix's cameraa and turned it on then got a "unplug/unmount camera" warning in shotwell software program. How does one load pictures from a camera into the shotwell software?. Do I need a driver or something?

Shotwell uses GPhoto (which is built into Ubuntu) as the camera driver.

By default, Nautilus mounts every device you plug in. But in order for GPhoto to work, your camera can't be mounted by Nautilus. Hence the warning. But you should just be able to select Unmount inside Shotwell and import all your photos.

Is that not what you're seeing?
