How do I download a video from Nikon camera to computer

I want to download a video from my Nikon Coolpix camera and put it on my Gateway notebook computer. I see it pop up when I plug it in, but I don't know what program to put it in or how to get it there.

You can use apps like shotwell and such to download images, or you can manually copy then if the device appears as a removable storage in nautilus
