Hi,

Do you upgrade shorewall to 5.0.6 on ubuntu Xenial ?

This version fix a docker iptables issue : https://github.com/docker/docker/issues/10218

I suggest that you create a bug report, stating the problems with the older and the improvements in the newer version.
You could also check whether that version (or an even higher one) is available in a PPA.
