I used the above link to try to solve the problem. I tried resetting my password and user name. Everything seemed ok , but when I rebooted the computer I was not able to enter the password. I was typing with cursor in the password box, but no characters or dots appeared in the box. It seems as though I was on the right track, but was not able to login. I have a dual boot system with windows vista as the other operating system. Please help
