When i try to download and it asks for my password, it rejects and says my password is incorrect

I cant download any programs or such, this is because when I do the authenticator says my password is incorrect. How do I fix this or re-do my password

Is it possible you have forgotten the password if yes this is how to reset it.

First find out your user name. If you don't know already open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and enter

whoami

Next reset the password
