The system needs a password to authenticate with. I suggest you boot to root recovery mode and set a password for your user.

Hi,
this is just an extension to @actionparnsnip's suggestion.

Boot from recovery mode and click root
after that , give this command to make the system read-write
===================
mount -o rw,remount /
===================

then give this command to reset your password
=================
passwd username
=================
where username = your actual username ,
it will ask you twice for new password , confirm and reboot the system with

=======
reboot
=======
Thanks
