Upgrade to 11.10: i am not able to logged in as root/administrator

Recently I upgraded my laptop from 11.04 to 11.10. But i am not able to logged in as root/administrator.

By default, the Root account password is locked in Ubuntu. This means that you cannot login as Root directly or use the su command to become the Root user. However, since the Root account physically exists it is still possible to run programs with root-level privileges. This is where sudo comes in - it allows authorized users (normally "Administrative" users) to run certain programs as Root without having to know the root password.

you might have to repeat the steps which you have done to enable a root login.

I can not logged in with login name which has administrative privilage. Whether password has been changed after upgradation?

I even not able to do sudo or su from guest login

I don't see why your password should have changed but if it has you can reset it.
