password & printer problem, also word processor

Asked by Gail Adams

I need a word processor that doesn't auto-format my documents.

I can't get my printer problems resolved, and I don't know my password for changing some of the settings. I only know my Administrator password. Should I upgrade to the newer version of Ubuntu for starters?

I like to write lyrics and chords on my Windows Word processor because it doesn't constantly change what I write.

Is there a program for Ubuntu like that, or can I disable those functions so that I can write the songs on my Ubuntu computer and print from it.

I have been partially successful in loading songs to a flash drive, then printing from Ubuntu, but changing around confuses my printer, and I keep having problems there.

Songs pile up in the print queue, but won't print.

I'm using a HPpsc 1350.

Thanks!!!

Gail

PS. I love Ubuntu!
