wrong user password on sudo password request

I was trying to install realtime player from the instruction, I type the sudo chmod a+x and press enter, then I was prompted to enter sudo password which entered the password I have been using to get into the computer, it continued saying wrong password please help

Hi, are you installing it from terminal?
The terminal hidden your password for security reasons, so when it asks to you for your password, just insert though it don't write anything and press enter.

Can you help with this problem?
