how to install skype, i don't remember password

Asked by james bowey

totally new to ubuntu - help

i am trying to install skype, and downloaded the install file then it asks me for a aptdaemon authentication code, so have no idea what that is, so then found the following link

http://www.webupd8.org/2010/05/install-skype-from-official-ubuntu-1004.html

however it wants me to go into the >system>administrator>software sources>other

How do i find the thing called system that lets me then into administrator etc.. i have no idea

so i tried in terminal running the line

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install skype

and it comes up with [sudo] password for neo:

I have no passwords for this machine at all, it is brand new.

Help please all i want is skype
