Asked by Matthew James Foss

I forgot my password for my current user and i want to change it, but i do not know how. I tried going onto terminal and i didn't know how to do it. I don't remember the old one, but i still want to change it. Is it possible to do this without the old password. If so can I please be helped.

Please and thank you,

Matthew James Foss

You can reboot and hold shift, then select recovery mode, then select root

You can now run:

cd /home; ls

ls == LS in lower case

you can now see the users on the system, you can now run:

passwd foo

Then reboot with:

reboot

replace foo with your username, you can now log on as foo with the password you set

Can you help with this problem?
