Boot to root recovery mode then run:

cd /home; ls

You will now see the usernames, you can now run:

passwd foo

replace foo with the username you see. You have now set the password for foo. You can now reboot then login as foo.

Hold shift at boot, select recovery mode then select root

You don't boot the cd, cd is a command and is short for (c)hange (d)irectory. It is also the same command in windows.

Can you help with this problem?
