forgot password for password and encryption keys

i forgot my password for password and encryption key and it won't log on to my internet because my login is different from my password and encryption key... I forget my password, How can i regain my password?

Then you will need to rename ~/.gnome2/keyrings then reboot, next time you use the keyring, a NEW password for a new keyring will be made. I suggest you set a blank password and you will never be bothered by this again.

Oh, yeah. That's how I got in trouble in the first place. I need a password for Evolution. When I try to provide the password for POP and SMTP, It is denied because of the lack of the old login password.

I'll try your method for recovering.

Even for your (actionparsnip) method of changing the login password I need an old password in order to get a new one. My computer is having a meltdown -- maybe a virus. I will be getting 10.10 soon.
