Is this package/program still under development?

Asked by TGP1994

It seems like there are still quite a few bugs for this package, yet it hasn't been updates for ~50 weeks.

More just a Side-Note then anything:

Screem has been removed from Lucid's default repositories.

How about for the current Karmic, or as a matter of fact, all of the repositories it's in? I think that if the developer(s) have given up, it should be noted somewhere :S

the package included in karmic is screem 0.16.1. According to their website the Stable release is (0.16.1) and the
Development release is 0.17.1. there are no packages of screem in the lucid repositories.

Ah, looking at there news, the last update hasn't been since January of '06. I don't know about you guys, but I think this package is null and void. Time to be retired.

yes you are right, the last release was in 2006. But there are many html editors in linux that are way better than screem. Here is a short list http://shibuvarkala.blogspot.com/2008/09/html-editors-for-linux-quanta-bluefish.html there is also the aptana plugin for eclipse.

I actually have my own thread going on, looking for a good IDE. If you wouldn't mind joining it for a bit: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1451662

I'll bet either the developers then have decided to put it permanently in beta, or maybe they just forgot about us ubuntinians :S
