any plans on updating sbcl version in trusty tar to include a binary for arm devices?

Asked by Mike Alger on 2014-08-11

As the summary states i am just wondering if the version of sbcl in the trusty tar repositories will be updated any time soon to support armhf devices? it looks like the unicorn version uses the newer version of that supports arm. Is it a lot of work to push the new version to the trusty tar ?

Versions of packages in Trusty will not change much. The aim of Trusty is to be solid and stable. Unless there is a significant bugfix or security issue fixed in a new version then the package will remain.

If you report a bug then the package may be updated but the fact that a new version exists is not grounds for an update in Ubuntu and especially not in an LTS.

fair enough, An LTS should not change for change sake.
Adding armhf support doesn't seem like a bugfix (although it would make my life easier ... )

looking at the release notes( there are a few bug fixes, but no bugs i have encountered personally to justify filing a bug report.

I'll look for an alternative solution,
