What happens with file changes made while the backup is running?

Asked by Hochhaltinger

I continued working at the PC while a sbackup session is runnung. So what happens with the changed files in the backup? Will all changes be stored in the backup or should I better stop working until the backup session is finished next time?

Was passiert mit File-Änderungen, die erst während eines Backup-Laufs passieren?
Werden die auch alle im Backup erfasst?

As far as I know, making changes while a backup is running is unlikely to cause any problems. However, it may be somewhat random whether the backup will include the new or old version of whatever you are working on.

the copy of the file you're working on will not be saved in the backup. rather, the previous copy will be saved. this is because the file you're working on is loaded into memory.

if this is a concern, you may want to do a backup when you're not using the computer. most people do backups during the night.

Can you help with this problem?
