sharing problem

when I right click a folder for sharing ,there is no option for sharing, So i can't share my folders to network.But get the shared folders of other system. I have already installed samba in my system .
   please help for rectify this problem.

on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid ibex or later,
right click above the folder icon, Share Options--->Share this Folder

my ubuntu version is 7.10
when i right click above the folder icon which i want to share ,there is no "share this folder" option.
i have already installed samba.

There will not be a "share this folder option," but there should be one, as juancarlos said, called "Sharing Options." When that is selected, you can choose to share the folder. Is the option titled "Sharing Options" not listed for you?

yes there is no option titled "sharing options" ,when i right clicking the folder.

Give the page listed blow a try and see if it helps you out at all. If not, we can go from there. It is slightly different pre-8.10.

Are you using Kubuntu or Ubuntu, or in other words, are you using Gnome or KDE?

If using Ubuntu (or Gnome), then you should check that you have the package nautilus-share installed. If it is not install, use the Synaptics package manager (located under 'System' -> 'Administration') to install it.
Now, log out and log in again (I am not sure if this step is necessary, but just in case).

And now, can you see the "Sharing options" listed once you right click on a directory?
