network files reading problem with libreoffice

I have the problem of accessing MS office files from the network as well as (even) seeing my kubuntu in other networked windows computers.

Based on my interaction here I tried many things but could not succeed. I uninstalled and reinstalled Kubuntu 14.04 LTS, but the problem persists

(Surprisingly while intalling, using try kubuntu option i was able to access the other computer files, which didi not work after installing)

Now after reading the advice of Ryantoss, I tried the 3 commds,
mount
sudo blkid
cat /etc/fstab

I get following (With error message for /dev/sda5....in which i have my kubuntu installed)

Does it contribute to my problem? Even otherwise, if this is to be corrected how do i do it?
please include the command line also I am just beggining to learn now.

Why do we need thge local file system's information when your issue is with accessing files over the LAN??

Are you trying to open data from the partitions in your output, or are they stored on remote systems and shared by SMB?

1) I am trying to access files from other networked computers and vice versa only

2) As I am unable to find an answer that works for me, I have been simply browsing various pages and trying out many things. However since this particular output showed some errors, I am eager to know whether it is in anyway the cause of my problem. ( I have no basic knowledge about computers, Networks etc other than simply using it. Still I found installing of Kubuntu easier!)

Kindly help me with the above info. If required please tell me other info you may need for that, by advicing me the exact command line for my use.

Yes, I see other systems. The networked wireless printer does not appear in
it, but other printers appear

In the mean time, on my own I changed the entire smb.conf file to its
original format using the first time saved version ,as I might have changed
very many parameters while learning these things. Of course even before as
well as before this restoration, i have been seeing it all. Now I have
changed only MSHOME inplace of WORKGROUP and rest are default parameters.

The reason why opted for this is:

When i started about a month back, I was able to mount all network shared
directories using SMB4K, though other computers were not seeing my kubuntu.

Since all attempts to solve the issue did not help, I un-installed using os
installer, reinstalled kubuntu 14.04 LTS.

However after that i became a little more bolder and hence attempted many
things, in the bargain probably changing some values, i should not have ( i
have no records of what i did). When today i used SMB4k again, it failed!

Hence i decided to go for the original saved version of smb.conf file.Now
SMB4k is working!

With my limited understanding i think i am doing something wrong in
'mounting' whatever it is supposed to mean!

I have retained a new folder created by me called documents, which i have
shared, in addition to making Documents also shared.

However on 15th July when when i checked one of my networked computer while
continuing with my experiments, my kubuntu had appeared there, but it said
it cant be accessed! Around that time, my new shared documents folder got
some new icons, with names, IA64, W32ALPHA, W32MIPS, W32PPS, W32X86, WIN40,
AND x64! I wonder whether these are the networked computers in any way!

Now I think I am with a clean slate to follow instructions i get from you,
hoping that i understand them!

It works now.

Now i am able to open MS office files using Network in dolphin file manager
