Login to ActiveDirectory

Hello.

I am new to linux. I would like to know if there is a possibility to commit login from ubuntu (11.10 to be specific) to an ActiveDirectory (Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition). It is really important to know if I can limit the user interaction with the desktop from a set of rules from the server (AD). Is there an add-on to AD ? Perhaps an add-on to Ubuntu ?
