ubuntu studio will not connect to windows xphome network

I cannot get Ubuntu studio to connect to my Windows XP Home network.

I am unclear what your question is -- it is not clear what you mean by "windows XP home network" -- that doesn't make sense, unfortunately.

Do you mean that you are trying to access files from one computer to the other using the windows file sharing protocol?

If so, try opening nautilus, then FIle->Connect to server -> Windows share

then enter in the name of the remote computer, the username and password for the remote system.

You can also try browsing in the network entry under the places view -- however without something called a "domain controller", this will be sketchy -- the windows protocol has always performed this action poorly.
