When will git support be enabled again?

Asked by eggbean

I had been wondering why git support wasn't working, but I just found out:

https://github.com/ogham/exa/issues/761

When is it likely to be re-enabled?

Are you using PopOS?

Yes. Pop!_OS 20.10.

Then you want the PopOS forum here
https://pop-planet.info/forums/

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported here.

There would be no point in going there as nobody there has got anything to do with this package as it comes from this repository. Pop!_OS is essentially Ubuntu and it uses this repository.

That's not my problem. This is Ubuntu support only. You aren't using Ubuntu. You can't just defect here because your community doesn't reply.

There are distribution agnostic forums on the Web but this isn't one of them.

Remark: Ubuntu has copied that package from Debian without additional modifications.
see https://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs//main/r/rust-exa/rust-exa_0.9.0-4_changelog to see that git support was removed there, because it failed in the tests.

Can you help with this problem?
